I am considering updating ALWM (PHP) to version 6.1, but I can't seem to find a structured way to take the suspend the system for the duration of the update.
Normally, one would send a message to all users "webmail will be down for maintenance between 2 and 4am on Sunday" (or similar). I can't seem to see which users are currently logged on, and don't seem to have a way to kick those out who are, and to keep everyone out while the update is under way.
Surely, I can't have people going in and out half-way through uploading the new files, re-applying my customizations, etc.
Suggestions?

There's no built-in way in WebMail Pro to make sure no one uses the product installation right now. To minimize the issues, I would suggest cloning existing installation along with the database dump, then upgrade the copied version and point web server to the new location. There are still chances for some data loss, but with a prior notice, they tend to be minimal. If you have some statistics as to when your WebMail Pro installation is minimally used throughout the day, that should be a great help.
