The PGP key is always lost. (The "Save" button was used.) - I have generated a new key several times. But he disappears every time.
Does somebody has any idea?

However, I am very satisfied with Afterlogic. Great thanks!

Hello,

Any chance you're using private/incognito window of your browser? Which browser are you using?

Please also note that, upon generating a key, it's necessary to click Save on that screen. If you navigate away from that page, the changes will be lost indeed, and there should be a warning displayed if you try to do that.

Thank you for your message. I saved the new settings (keys) every time. I didn't use incognito mode. I use Opera 65 on Manjaro Linux 64 bit. I will try it with Firefox. If the key 'll disappears than again, I will report. Many greetings!

I imported the key with Firefox. I'll see.

Imported and saved with Firefox. Now away - as if by magic.

That's strange really, sounds like there's a problem with Local Storage of the web browser - can you check in browser console (F12 key in Firefox) if anything actually gets stored there? And do those keys disappear upon page reload or logging out and back in?

There are other features in WebMail which rely on local storage. For example, if you expand a message info bar on top of message preview pane, and reload the page, it will still be expanded - assuming Local Storage works correctly; does it work for you that way?

Also, I've just checked this with Opera 65 installed on my Linux Mint box, and it all works just fine there.

Thank you very much, Igor. I have no idea. I use AfterMail 8. The plugins you mentioned have not yet been adapted. As far as I can see. The keys are not only lost in Opera, but also in Firefox. Maybe that's somewhere in my security settings.

There's probably a misunderstanding here, I wasn't speaking of any plugins. The message info bar is available out-of-box, and a browser console is something available in Firefox, Chrome and other browsers.

I would suspect that, which is why it'd be interesting to check whether other features relying on Local Storage are working.

I wish a happy new year and a long, happy life!
The keys are kept as long as I have opened the browser. Even if I log out of my email account and log in again.
But when I close the browser, the keys disappear the next time I log in.

My browsers are set up so that the entire chronicle is deleted after the browser is closed. I also think that makes sense. I don't hope that's because. Because I don't want to change that.

I suppose this isn't only about browsing history, and I recommend rechecking if Local Storage is affected as well. If it is, you will need to disable that, there's no other solution here.

I have no idea how I can use the developer tool to test whether saving to local storage works. (F12 at FF - I know.)

As I've suggested before, the simplest test would involve switching showing full details of message sender/recipient info on/off. There's a small arrow-like tool for that between address and preview panes:

When it's clicked, message sender/recipient info switches between compact and full view:

and local storage is where this status is kept, so next time you open webmail, or just reload the browser window/tab, it's displayed accordingly. My suggestion is to close and reopen the browser, then open webmail and see if the message pane status is restored from Local Storage correctly.

Thank you. As a result, I have the following:
before, afterwards

So does that mean that storage in local storage works properly in this case?

Yes, seems so.

Developers asked if it's possible to get a test account on your installation so they could take a look. If yes, please send the credentials over HelpDesk. Thanks.

That's OK. While we can't guarantee anything here, we'd still like to take a look.

Oh, we were only speaking of installation URL and email account we could use to log into. But SFTP/SSH could be helpful as well.

Well, for users with the same question, here is the answer: The PGP keys are deleted when the browser is closed (Firefox, Opera) if 'Cookies and other website data' are deleted with the browser via settings. Because the information is stored in the client, the local memory. - Here is information about the local storage.

I hope I got it right.
Many thanks to the support!
