Hi Alex,

I got the notice of the new MailBee webmail, checked out the demo. Very impressive!

I have a probing question for you, earlier I used MailBee Objects and the message queue for an asp lead manager I wrote.

I am making another lead manager soon, and my first test with MailBee found it to be a very awesome product. But I did discover shortcomings in the manner of which I use the product.

Right now I receive email, then I copy all of the various data from it, headers, subject, body, attachments, etc. And throw those into a database.

From this point I link the emails to a specific customer. So at a later point in time, when we look up the customer information - the emails from/to that specific customer will be present.

One problem is the usage of Microsoft products for email. Often the email has MSHTML for formatting, etc. I have tried to strip out the html to no luck. Result is if we reply to the email - the MSHTML messes with the email and nothing except a little square displays on the email. Really pretty frustrating.

Is there a method for me to use MailBee in a more intelligent manner. Such as, integrate the webmail into my lead manager - but somehow still link the customer to the emails?

So in other words if I bring up a customers information, and click say an email tab - up comes MailBee's webmail interface - but it only shows mail to/from the specific customer?

Hope this makes sense.

Thank you for your time
Sincerely,
Stuart

Yes, it's not a big problem to adapt WebMail Pro to display particular email from database. Of course, WebMail Pro currently uses its own format of database tables, but it's possible to modify it to allow reading from any other database (or adapt your database to WebMail Pro format). Both ways are acceptable.

However, the real question is what you will achieve with viewing emails through WebMail Pro interface. As far as I can see, you have some mails not being properly replied. Have you tested these mails with WebMail Pro demo and found they are replied/displayed properly? Without testing of problem emails, it's not possible to guarantee using WebMail Pro will solve the problem.

Please let us know whether you made the tests and were satisfied with the results. Anyway, if any problems are found, we will do our best to fix them.

If you decide to integrate WebMail Pro with your app, we would be happy to provide you with all necessary information and assistance on the adaptation.

Regards,
Alex

hmm,

Good point, I have not tried the demo yet, but within a few days I should be at the point of needing to figure something out.

I've certainly narrowed it to the MSHTML that Newer versions of Outlook uses.

Even trying to strip HTML does not work - something is always left behind.

I'll give it a shot and let ya know.

Many thanks.
