Hello,
One of my users had a 25mb message sent to him. We have just recently started
to use Webmail Pro.
Here is what happened:
1) The user could not receive messages. Error displayed: Can't save message.
I took the message aside at mail server level - and then user could retrieve
messages.
2) I made sure the user had not exceeded their quota. Then I forwarded the
message to my own mailbox to do some testing.
The message did arrive into my mailbox (and shows the size number) but when I
try to view it, it shows the message "This message has already been deleted from
the mail server."
When I clicked "Check mail" again - it seems the interface started fetching the
mail again - like it did not finish fetching the large mail the first time.
Then it showed "Can't save message"
I looked at the log file (after enabling debugging) - but it contains sensitive
data that I can't really post here. Perhaps I can clean it up tomorrow and post
it if you are interested...
My guess is that this message basically breaks down the application - and I am
not surprised - message this size are simply not fit for email... but it is hard
to get users to understand that!

The first thing we need to know is whether you're running PHP or ASP.NET version of WebMail Pro. In any case, posting logs here is not recommended. If you require assistance from AfterLogic team, we suggest to post your requests in our HelpDesk. Any information placed there is available to AfterLogic support staff only.
Please note that processing large messages is VERY memory-consuming. For instance, if you run PHP version and would like to process message of 25M size, you would need at least 250-300M of memory set in memory_limit option in PHP configuration.
Switching to a different synchronization mode can offer some relief as to processing large messages. If you're using POP3 access, you might want to switch to "Headers Only" sync.mode, so that only message headers will be retrieved to WebMail Pro on mail check, and full messages are downloaded only when they're requested by user directly to be viewed. This article offers deeper insight on this matter.
