I must be missing something.

I have been developing a small service application using MailBee. Works fine, no problems. So I thought I would hook it up to our Exchange Server at work, which is what it is intended to interface to.

I was going to use POP3, but that was disabled on the Exchange server. So I advised that I would use IMAP4 instead. "Oh, that isn't installed either" was the hasty reply.

Now I'm lost. I thought Exchange relied upon IMAP4, but it seems all our Outlook clients are connecting with something else entirely.

What is the situation with this?

Besides standard POP3 and IMAP4 mail protocols, MS Exchange Server supports its own internal protocol. This protocol is used only by Microsoft products (such as Outlook).

Thus, MailBee Objects (along with components of other vendors) does not support this protocol. It seems you should either use another mail server which supports standard mail protocols or insist on enabling them on your current MS Exchange installation.
