          Hello,

MessageCount does not tally with the one shown
 in Gmail?

Any reasons as to why? Are other folders added
 to the poolcount too?

 Thanks!

Have just checked this myself. GMail states that I have 930 messages in my account, though both Imap.MessageCount and Mozilla Thunderbird claim there are 1234 mails there.

This is getting clear if you think of message threading used in GMail: it actually shows number of threads, not messages. This can be confirmed by removing any message from a particular thread.

Considering the above, I believe we may say that Gmail shows wrong information about number of messages while Imap.MessageCount gets it correctly.
