Error: No connection could be made because the target machine actively refused it. (shows the local machine's IP address and port 110)
Hi, I have a service that checks a remote mailbox using the pop3 MailBee object. This service sits on a machine behind a firewall and port 110 outbound traffic is being allowed.
The service is able to retrieve and process mail. However, on startup of the service the above error message is reported.
Is this something to be concerned with? Is there a way to disable it?
Thanks

From the description, I assume that your service is started during Windows startup. At that moment, some startup procedures may be not completed yet; for example, list of the exceptions on firewall hasn't become effective yet. Try to stop and restart the service manually and see if the issue persists on service startup.

Hi and thanks for the quick response!
I am not able to re-create the error by starting and stopping the service. I'm beginning to wonder how I even saw the message in the first place.
The reported error was not during the machine startup, it was after installing and starting the service yesterday. It was then turned off and left overnight then this morning manually started which threw the same error. But as said it seems to be processing just fine beyond that inital message.
If we notice any issues going forward I'll be sure to follow up. Thanks again!
