Hi Alex,

Do you know why we get this error when sending an email?
(it happends only with a couple of smtp-servers)

[Sending data command: data\r\n]
[Sending data chunk]
[Message data sent]
[Error: Negative or void server response]
[Server responded: 550 Administrative prohibition\r\n]
[Sending failed (but connection is still valid)]
[Disconnecting from the server]
[Connection closed]

We found a lot of information regarding this issue via Google. Some examples:

Administrative Prohibition
Administrative Prohibition
550 Administrative Prohibition Microsoft Outlook

There are a lot of various reasons of this problem. Have you tried to send a message via MS Outlook to the same address (which causes the issue) through the same SMTP server from the same workstation your application powered by MailBee SMTP component is running on?

Best regards,
Andrew

Hi Andrew,

I tried the account settings in Outlook 2003 and everything is working fine, there where no problems when testing the new added account. And also sending a mail to the emailaddress did work just fine.

Do you think I have try to use Outlook express on the server, where the Mailbee component is running?

Of course, you should check it from the server where MailBee Objects is running. The information sources we provided say the issue may happen because sender's IP address is blacklisted in public RBL lists. And also, it may depend on message contents, i.e. if the mail server decides the message is a spam, it may return such error.

Best regards,
Andrew

Hi Andrew,

There was no problem with the account using Outlook Express on the server....So then I was searching and searching....and finally I found the problem. The server needs and reply address (ReplyToAddr) !!

My problem is fixed... 5 months later :-)
