I've created a CSV file of all of my contacts and imported them using the Import function in the Aurora web client and following the instructions provided here http://www.afterlogic.com/wiki/Importing_contacts_(WebMail)?WM=AU.
A couple of things that don't import at all from the CSV created with the steps outlined at the link above:
- Home Zip Code
- Business Zip Code
- Business Company
For both, since I am Canada, I am using the following format:
- L#L #L# (where L is letter and # is number - e.g. M1M 1M1 would be a properly structured Canadian postal/zip code, the same would apply for the UK for example)
This is not the end of the world, but it is very annoying.
The next issue is the subsequent contacts sync with Microsoft Outlook. This is just a mess.
The only contacts fields that sync with Outlook are the following (in no particular order):
- Full Name (goes into the Outlook Full Name field)
- First Name (goes into the Outlook First Name field)
- Last Name (goes into the Outlook Last Name field)
- Business Email (goes into the Outlook Email field - this is a problem as this address is then synced back into the Home Email field in Aurora when the contact is updated in Outlook)
- Home Street (goes into the Outlook Home Street field)
- Home City (goes into the Outlook Home City field)
- Home State (goes into the Outlook Home State field)
- Home Country (goes into the Outlook Home Country/Region field)
- Business Street (goes into the Outlook Business Street field)
- Business City (goes into the Outlook Business City field)
- Business State (goes into the Outlook Business State field)
- Business Country (goes into the Outlook Business Country/Region field)
- Birthday (goes into the Outlook Birthday field)
- Notes (goes into the Outlook Notes field)
- Business Web Site (goes into the Outlook Web Page field)
- Business Company (goes into the Outlook Company field)
The following contact fields do not sync into Outlook from Aurora (in no particular order):
- Business Fax (it should sync into the Outlook Business Fax field)
- Business Phone (it should sync into the Outlook Business Phone field)
- Home Phone (it should sync into the Outlook Home Phone field)
- Home Email (it should go into one of the additional Outlook E-mail Address fields - either E-mail 2 Address or E-mail 3 Address)
If you update the Business Fax, Business Phone and Home Phone fields for the contact in Outlook and then perform a sync, this information is wiped from the contact in Aurora.
Contacts seem to sync fine in iOS and Android (the proper fields get updated) and if changes are made to the contact in iOS and Android they are synced back to Aurora properly. The syncing in Outlook however is just a big mess.
