          Hi,

Can you tell me if it is possible to automatically delete mail after it has been forwarded as per forwarding rules set-up in the user/forwards tab.

I have some users that dont use webmail and dont set-up their email client with the xmail domain user, they just have a forward to another email account which they access via email client software.

Not deleteing the forwarded mail will cause clutter and ultimately stop the account working when the maximum mailbox size is reached

 thanks

 Neil.

Although it's not supported in the current version of AfterLogic XMail Server Pro, we're working on it and will be able to provide you with the update on the next week.

Got some news from the developers. Actually, that feature is not supported in Admin Panel interface, but the core supports it.

Typical "mailproc.tab" file placed into user's home folder (MailRoot/domains/[DOMAINNAME]/[USERNAME]) forcing copying mail to another e-mail address contains:

 "mailbox"
 "redirect"    "address-to-copy-mails@som e-domain"

In the case when necessary to forward mails without storing in user's mailbox, just remove "mailbox" instruction from the "mailproc.tab", so it'll look like:

 "redirect"    "address-to-copy-mails@som e-domain"

We're planning to add it to Admin Panel soon.

 Best regards,
 Andrew

 | thanks for digging up some more info.
I have implemented this on a test account.

The mail certainly is no longer stored but unfortunately the redirect doesn't happen. Does the mail need to be stored in order for it to be then redirected?

 best regards

 Neil.

That's strange. We've just re-tested it, everything works fine: mail is redirected, but not stored.

Please make sure the redirect rule is specified in correct format: quotes are not missing and a tab is between "redirect" and "address-to-copy-mails@som e-domain".

 Best regards,
 Andrew

I can only assume it was the tab, as I had previously copied and pasted from your previous message and then edited the email address to redirect to.

All is working fine now anyway, thankyou very much.

I appreciate your prompt and detailed responses

 cheers
 Neil.
