Support,
We are getting following error while trying to download mails from Lotus POP3 server.
------------------------------------------
04/11/2007 04:34:40 PM POP3 Server: 10.176.4.78 connected
04/11/2007 04:34:40 PM POP3 Server: edocs/operations/KamalaMills/xxxx
logged in; connecting host 10.176.4.78
04/11/2007 04:34:40 PM POP3 Server: Unable to open mail file for
edocs/operations/KamalaMills/xxxx: Unable to obtain exclusive access to
maildrop
---------------------------------------
We keep getting above error. But when we download mails from Outlook it does without problem.
Look forward towards immediate solution.

Maybe, you attempt to run multiple connections to the same mailbox simultaneously? For instance, you run your app on several computers, or it's multi-threaded, or you do not disconnect and then attempt to make new connection to the same mailbox again?

No! We are not doing anything of that! It is a single machine, single threaded. It is a lotus mailbox accessed thru Lotus POP3. The mailbox has 18000 mails and is around 600 MB.
The problem is observed only when the mailbox size increases and has substantial mails.

It there any way for us to reproduce the problem? We would need to connect to this mailbox via MailBee POP3 and via Outlook POP3 to see the difference and examine the issue in more detail.

Alex

Alex,
The client is financial house. You know how fussy these people are about their security. They will not give us access from outside.
We have to setup Lotus domino ourselves and test it.

OK, that would work too. We're looking forward to results of testing your own Lotus Domino installation.
