Hi all,
I deployed Webmail Lite 9.8.1.build21-build-o3 on an Apache with PHP 8.3.17 today. Most things seem to work fine, however the external authentication via google fail. Key, Secret and App ID is correctly configured (as far as I can tell). I did similar configs for nextcloud, wikijs, portainer etc. So in general I know how it works.
This is the php.log:

The debug log from WebMail shows a suspicious line
Code:
[20:07:46.53][a591ed09] PHP[NOTICE]: /home/netpebbles/domains/mail.netpebbles.de/public_html/modules/OAuthIntegratorWebclient/Classes/OAuthClient/http.php [line:1542, code:8192]
[20:07:46.53][a591ed09] PHP[NOTICE]: Error: Creation of dynamic property http_class::$content_length_set is deprecated |
|

Could it be a bug related to the usage of dynamic properties on the http-class of that Oauth-module? I think they depricated it with php8.2.
best regards
Patrick

In the latest release, there is indeed an issue with Google integration, it's already corrected by the developers and the fix will be included in the next 9.8.2 release. If this feature is critical for you, you can download and install previous release 9.8.0 of WebMail Lite PHP, we believe the issue should not be there.

Hi Igor,
thanks for your super quick response! Great to see that it is a known issue and that it will be foixed with the next release. For now it is not a super urgent problem. I will just wait and try again.
best regards
Patrick

Hi Igor,
I've upgraded to the new 9.8.2 version. Now I am apply to link my Google account in the settings.
However logging in still fails with PHP 8.2/8.3. Same error as before:
Code:
| Error: Creation of dynamic property http_class::$content_length_set is deprecated |
|
|
Any idea what's wrong?
best regards
Patrick

Interesting. Quick check confirms the issue is there indeed - strangely enough, it only seems to be there for Lite, but not for WebMail Pro or Aurora Corporate. I've reported this to the developers, they'll take a look.

I appreciate your lightning-fast reply. That it is a documented problem that will be addressed in the upcoming version is fantastic news. At this time, it is not an extremely pressing matter. Let me wait and give it another shot.

Hi Patrick,
The dynamic property notice is worth reporting, but I doubt it's the direct cause of the OAuth failure. PHP 8.2 deprecated dynamic properties, but this normally produces a deprecation notice rather than stopping the authentication flow.
The more interesting part of your log is the invalid OAuth state. I'd check whether the PHP session and its cookies survive the redirect back from Google. Make sure the callback uses the same hostname and HTTPS scheme, and check the session cookie settings and any reverse proxy configuration if you're using one.
Since your other applications authenticate successfully, the Google credentials are probably fine, but WebMail Lite may be handling the callback or session state differently. If possible, test with a clean browser session and check the PHP session logs as well.
It would be interesting to know whether AfterLogic can reproduce this with PHP 8.3 and WebMail Lite 9.8.1, especially if the OAuth module hasn't been updated for the newer PHP versions.
