hello i have been using web and weblite for many years and never had issue to upgrade to latest php
but now to php 8 i am on ionos.ca and i cant undetand how to install your new script its so coinsfusing i dont kno how to install the databse..etc

i 1st like to test on my local machine wampserver and all your other versions it was access to adminpanel but here i dont undettand the install docs links at all sorry

how do you install it pls in simply steps

Hello,

You simply need to download ZIP package and extract it into your webserver directory. Assuming this is WampServer, you can create a directory called webmail (in my case that's C:/wamp64/www/webmail but location may differ) and access WebMail at URL like http://localhost/webmail/ - but first, you'd need to access adminpanel at http://localhost/webmail/adminpanel/, login as superadmin user with an empty password. Once in, setting an actual password is the first thing to do.

If you run WebMail on a webhosting service, it should offer a way to get database access details. In case of WampServer, you'd simply create a new database with PhpMyAdmin, supply its name along with root username, empty password, and localhost for hostname. Save changes, press "Create/Update tables" and "Update configuration" buttons.

Once that's done, add one or several mailservers under Mail Servers tab of adminpanel, and you should be able to log into email accounts on those servers.

Oh, sorry for the confusion, I was assuming you mean PHP 8.

In case of WebMail v8, there's no adminpanel indeed, you login there using main page.

Using current v9 of WebMail is recommended.

If you are on PHP 8, you need v9 of WebMail Lite, v8 will not work there.

i forgot to have to go in the admin and manually add each email address and the passowrd ?
