Hello

Documentation says: "For example, chat user for myname@thedomain.co.uk will be created with myname.thedomain username."

What happens in case where there are two identical domain names, like domain.com and domain.net and both of those domains have user (mailbox) jack, which may or may not be same person?

Is "myname.thedomain" really the username on chat server, or is it just a cosmetic name?
On chat channel, there is indeed users with this naming convention, but
on webmail chat settings (afterlogic demo) i see text: "Use your login "userNNNNN@demo.afterlogic.com" and password as credentials."

Also, link in text "generate one using Let's Encrypt." in doc ends up in 404 page.

Those two would map to the same RocketChat user. In the near future, we plan to add a setting defining a rule of how the chat username looks - just the username part of the email address, or the first word of the domain name appended, or the full domain name.

That's an actual login of RocketChat user.

RocketChat currently allows to login by specifying username as well as user's email address, so both are correct.

Indeed, looks like their website structure has changed, we've replaced the link with a valid one.

Thank you for answers Igor.

How does rocketchat behave in multi tenant environment?
Do different tenant users see other tenants users there, or is chat users isolated by tenant?

While Aurora was built with multitenancy in mind, that's not the case with RocketChat unfortunately. If multiple tenants use the same RocketChat installation, they are likely to see each other. You can try reconfiguring RocketChat disabling search, common channels etc., but thus far the only reliable approach for multi-tenant environment is to have separate RocketChat installation for each tenant, and have custom RocketChatWebclient.config.json configuration for each tenant placed under data/settings/modules/tenants/tenant_name directory. We use that approach at our live demo installations, so demo users have their separate RocketChat instance assigned for them, the installations were installed using snaps.

Hope this helps.
