Hi -
We have been using MailBee Objects SMTP library to email from our MS Access application for several years.
Effective October 2020 MS will turn off Basic Authentication in Exchange online.
Will MailBee Objects support modern authentication using OAuth 2.0 when sending email using Office365 or Exchange Online servers?
Thank you,
Ann

Hi,
It's not published yet but we already have MailBee.dll with OAuth 2.0 support (you can contact us via Helpdesk to obtain it). We tested it against Gmail. It will work with any other OAuth 2.0 service (provided that you have tools for getting access tokens for that service).
I.e. MailBee Objects can consume the access token and pass it to the IMAP/SMTP server with XOAUTH2 auth mechanism but it's up to you how to get this token. Each service provider offers its own tools/APIs for that.
Regards,
Alex

Hi Alex, that's terrific news!
Do you have a timeline on the publication/release of the new dll? I assume it would be Mailbee objects 9.3?
Thanks,
Ann

Hi,
Yes, it will be 9.3. No exact ETA yet, probably a couple of months or so.

Alex
