PostgreSQL support isn't available in v8 yet.

You can open a feature request vote if you wish, features which get substantial amount of votes are added to the product roadmap.

No, they share the same framework codebase.

Maybe you'd be interested in previous WebMail Lite version, it did have PostgreSQL support there.
