Hi,

I've done an install on my hosted web server, and incoming mails are working just fine.

However, I am struggling to change the outgoing mail server. I put in my hosted mail server, but my host says smtp connections from localhost are rejected, resulting in an error on trying to send.

I have tried to change the mail server settings, both by the admin panel, and directly in the XML file.

The XML file shows the settings I want, but the debug logs always show an attempted, and refused, connection to the old mail server.

I have tried emptying caches on the browsers, deleting the cache directory on the server, and, of course, logging out and in again. Nothing works.

What am I doing wrong?

Thanks in advance for any help.

If you change mailserver settings in AdminPanel, or in settings.xml, those changes only apply to the accounts created afterwards; accounts that already are in WebMail database will not be affected. You'll need to either delete an account and log back into it, or modify mailserver hostname directly in the database, awm_accounts table, mail_inc_host field.
